Book of Wonder was recently developed as part of the “In the Works, In the Woods Festival” at the Forestburgh Playhouse. The workshop was directed by Roque Berlanga with musical direction by Erik Waker. We were thrilled to have four Brennan & White veterans in the cast – Corinne Prudente, Andrea Strickler, Max Gallagher and Lane Lavonne. The other members of the cast were Valeria Aceves, Anthony Cangiamila and James Wong. The stage manager was Cameron Sparks.
In a world with no written language, a Storyteller visits the town of Astoria each night to lull the residents to sleep. But one night, the Storyteller fails to arrive. Astoria’s only denizen capable of slumber, a young girl named Abenthe, must embark on a quest to find the missing Storyteller. But some stories do not want to be found.

“A new musical geared toward young audiences but appealing to all. This is the kind of show that will make young people fall in love with theatre… there are goosebump harmonies and counterpoint and wonderful messages. I was leaning in, grinning broadly, from start to finish!” – Lori Schneider, The Aisle Seat.
